SKARNA was born in Reykjavík, at 65° North — where fire meets ice, and the land gives more than it takes.
Reykjavík sits on the edge of the Arctic Circle, where the air is clean, the water runs straight from the glaciers, and the ground is still being made by volcanoes. It is a place of extremes — and of an almost unreal purity. Everything we make starts here.
Iceland is built on fire. As lava cools, it leaves behind a soil dense with silica, zinc and trace minerals. We draw on these volcanic minerals to clarify, balance and strengthen the skin — the quiet power of a land that is never quite finished forming.
Pressed from ancient glaciers and filtered slowly through lava fields, Icelandic water is among the purest on earth. It is the base of every formula — soft, mineral-light, and gentle enough for the most reactive skin.
Between the rock and the ice, life is stubborn and potent. Arctic moss, angelica and birch grow slowly through long winters, concentrating their actives to survive. We harvest them with care and let their resilience pass into the skin.
We work in small batches, cold-process, to protect every active from heat. No shortcuts, no filler, no noise — only what the skin needs. Each bottle is filled, checked and labelled by hand before it leaves Reykjavík.
